Red and White Houses

Don't you just love red and white quilts? This is another beauty! My customer ,Renata, did a superb job on the piecing and applique. I added some tile roofs and windows along with other elements to keep it somewhat traditional/modern.
Around the applique borders I added freehand feathers , leaves and  swirls to  contrast with all the line work and crosshatching. Curves and feathers play well with all the linear designs.

Glide white thread and Microquilter, Red on the houses. Hobbs 80/20 batting.

Some pretties!!!

Cityscape made by Pauline Wilson  turned out so nice!!! Pauline did a spectacular job with the One- Block-Wonders surrounding the panel. So much fun to quilt and choose designs for.
Several thread changes as the colors went from light teal through to darkest gray.
This quilt won three ribbons at a juried show in New Jersey. 1st in its category, Judges Choice and Viewers Choice!!!!
Another view as I took it off the frame and checked for missed spots!
Stars ,
Also made by Pauline and in the same show. It won a second place ribbon. This was a guild challenge/block of the month and the setting was up to each person.
Since these were set in a circle, I tried to have the quilting highlight that. Red and white quilts are so pretty and this was a great quilt to use lots of star designs.
