Enduring Elegance

Enduring Elegance

Brownstone Quilt Guild 2015 Raffle Quilt, based on a design by Margaret Cormack,

originally published in Australian Patchwork and Quilting.

Isn't this a lovely quilt? I quilted this late last year for this guild in New Jersey.  It is a group quilt. It was so very well pieced. Everything matched and square!  This very detailed design allowed for lots of quilting. Feathers, triangle motifs, Stitch in the Ditch , swag border and free hand fills around the center applique, were chosen to enhance the piecing.

I was happy to hear that it got a Best of Show ribbon at the Somer Quilt Show.

Beautiful quilt Ladies!

Found a few more photos that show the quilting. This quilt had a lot of different piecing shapes and it was fun designing the quilting. It's always the goal to make the different elements work together and have balance in the quilting across the quilt. I like the mix of feather motifs and line work. They play together nicely.

  1. your quilting is stunning on our Raffle quilt! I love the feathers in the star border area. Very creative ways of filling in spaces.
